After finishing up his date with Io, Sensei goes on to Koi Cafe to meet up with Rin to continue with the second part of the date war. Upon arrival, he is speechless for a hot minute as Rin pretends to take his order. Right then it is revealed that Rin reverted her hair's color back to how it was when they first met. All of this is in an attempt to remind Sensei of how it all was back in the day where they started being homies. Before saying goodbye to Haruka, Rin suggests heading out.
Right outside of the school dorms, Sensei thinks about how everything about Rin right now is nostalgic and that there is never a boring moment with her. Rin notices Sensei being quiet and asks him about it. He asks her why she wanted to change back, she answers that she can be herself only with him and nobody else, as she needs to accommodate for others and try very hard to fit in. She can be just Rin, and right now, she wants to be just that and for Sensei to be himself too; to see where things could lead to.
In her room, Sensei ponders over the fact that he is now the main focus of things and not just the moral support. Rin breaks the silence with talking about what happened during the time when she sent Sensei messages asking him to come over and apologizes. She wonders what her mom said about it to Sensei, to which he responds with that he is expected to let her down gently. Rin then offers to sit down.
They proceed to talk about their relationship and how their dynamic with one another is, what they lived through throughout their time together and how they have come a long way. Rin talks about how their relationship should continue and how that she doesn't regret anything, stating that she knows that they both know it is the right thing to do. Sensei goes on to say how this is too good to be true and that he doesn't deserve her, that this might be putting her on a path of hurting. She assures him that she is just as scared and nervous and that they should just follow their hearts.
Sensei wonders why coffee tastes sweeter than usual this day.
